Congratulations to Evergreen CC’s Team Rutherford who captured the 2014 Mountain Pacific (MoPac) Mixed Curling Championship this past weekend. The team of Kevin Rutherford (skip), Eleanor Robertson (vice), Art Placek (second) and Kathy Placek (lead) finished the seven-team double-knockout playdown with a 5-0 record, including wins over Team Carr of Boise Curling Club (Boise, ID), Team Endicott of Curl San Diego (twice), Team Maxie of Coyotes Curling Club (Arizona), and Team Jensen of Hollywood Curling Club.
Team Rutherford will represent MoPac at the 2014 US Mixed National Curling Championships at the South Wood County Recreation Center in Wisconsin Rapids, WI on March 15-22. They will be one of 10 teams competing for the national championship.
MoPac, the Mountain Pacific Curling Association, is one of 10 regions of USA Curling and represents the states of Arizona, California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon and Utah. MoPac contains 17 distinct curling clubs and nearly 1000 curlers.
